This page contains the privacy policy, terms of use, and legal information for ZakatEasy — a personal Zakat calculator available as a web app and Android mobile app.

Data Handling

ZakatEasy stores your draft and history locally on your device (via AsyncStorage on mobile and localStorage on the web). The app does not create accounts, does not collect personal data, and operates primarily offline.

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, exclusively on the web platform (including this website and the React web app at zakateasy.app) to understand general traffic and button interactions.

Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personally identifiable information, and does not track users across websites. IP addresses are anonymized and analytics data is processed in aggregated form. Because our analytics is cookieless, we do not display a cookie consent banner.

To be absolutely clear: this analytics tool is ONLY used for the web version. The ZakatEasy native mobile app (Android/iOS) contains zero tracking code of any kind and operates completely offline.

The app does not automatically transmit your structured app data to any server or third party. When you use CSV export, data is shared only through the method you choose (for example, email or a messaging app). Device backups may include app data based on your system backup.

The Quick Zakat Estimate on the homepage and the Nisab Calculator tool both operate entirely on-device. Numbers you enter are used only for the calculation and are not stored, transmitted, or shared.

Terms of Use

ZakatEasy is a calculator utility for personal estimation. It is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The app does not provide religious, legal, or financial advice. You are responsible for verifying all inputs and outputs before acting on results.

The Nisab Calculator is an estimation tool based on standard gold (87.48g) and silver (612.36g) thresholds. The Nisab values shown are approximate and depend on the metal rates you provide. This tool does not fetch live market prices and does not guarantee accuracy. It is your responsibility to verify the rates used and to consult a qualified Islamic scholar for final rulings on Zakat eligibility.
